Meet Audrey 2

In July 2012, I bought a 2009 Audi Q5.  I loved Audrey!  I name my cars - don't judge.  I can't really say enough about how much I loved Audrey.  She. Was. Awesome.

In October 2015, I got frustrated with the cost of maintaining Audrey.  She was getting older and needed some maintenance to keep her happy.  That maintenance was not cheap and the maintenance she was requiring was a little ridiculous.  I had to get the windshield seal repaired because it was leaking.  That one was covered by Audi of America after I argued with them, but it was still odd.

The door latch replacement pushed me over the edge.  Had I not replaced the door latch, it would have eventually failed and I wouldn't be able to lock my car.  That repair set me back $750.  No Bueno.

I bought Rita, the 2015 Acura RDX.  I thought I would be happy with Rita, but she just didn't grow on me.  It was nothing personal; I just didn't love Rita like I loved Audrey.  I kept Rita for about five months before deciding it just wasn't going to work.  I should mention I still had Audrey at this point.

I decided to trade in both Rita and Audrey to get another Q5.  I went to the dealership thinking I was going to get a newish Q5 2.0 with a four-cylinder engine.  I drove a white 2015 Q5 that I loved.  The salesperson asked me to drive a silver 2015 Q5 3.0 with a six-cylinder engine.  I looked at this one online, but there weren't any interior photos, so I didn't really consider it seriously.

I somewhat reluctantly drove the silver one, thinking I would humor the lady.  Wow is all I can say.  I was blown away.  It was love at first drive!  The white 2.0 was great, but the silver 3.0 was a-mah-zing!  Marlene, the salesperson, could tell I wanted the silver one, so as soon as we got back to the dealership, she said she would start the paperwork for that one.

The photos below are from the dealer's website.  I don't have any interior photos, but the inside is identical to my 2009 Q5 except for the leather is dark gray instead of tan.

I successfully traded in Rita and Audrey.  It was sad, but they both served me well.

Initially I named the new Audi Queenie.  Queenie didn't grow on me, so I decided to change her name to Audrey 2.  If you're familiar with Little Shop of Horrors, you'll get the name.

So far, I'm VERY happy with Audrey 2.  I love driving this car.  I don't know what it is about the Audis, but I feel so in control behind the wheel.  It's like the car was made just for me.  When I had the Acura, it was almost like I dreaded having to drive it.  Now, I look for any reason to drive the Audi.

Pete and Annabelle like riding in Audrey 2, too.

They have always travelled very well, but they seem to really like these car seats.  They wear their harness and a clip on the car seat connects to the harness to keep them in place.  They lie down and sleep like they always do, but they have their own space now.
