I'm originally from a small South Georgia town and currently live in Atlanta. I was married for eleven and a half years, but divorced in January 2015. I had two female Pekingese-poodle mix dogs named Pete and Annabelle. They were probably two of the least behaved dogs on Earth, but they were mine and I love them. My sweet Annabelle died in March 2017 of congestive heart failure. Pete (a.k.a. Shapeeth, Stinky, Petetricia) is twelve years old and is doing well, although she has some arthritis.
I graduated from Valdosta State University with a BFA in interior design. I enjoy a visually pleasing environment that is very functional. I spent over four years working for an architect and learned the ins and outs of building construction. A majority of my time was spent drawing construction documents (most people refer to these as blueprints even though they're technically not blueprints).
In December 2010, I was hired by a benefits enrollment firm in Atlanta as an account specialist. I'll be the first to admit I had no experience with insurance; I didn't even understand our medical insurance! As it turned out, the job required a lot of customer service, which I can handle. The company saw my potential because I was promoted to senior account specialist in June 2012. Shortly after I was hired, I knew I wanted to become an account manager. Amazingly, that happened in September 2012. It happened during our busiest time of year, so it was a "sink or swim" type of initiation.
I spent the first year after my divorce feeling sorry for myself and indulging in any food or beverage I wanted. As you might expect, I gained some weight. After the one year anniversary of my divorce, I decided I was going to get in shape. I've started working out with a trainer and am watching what I eat. It has made a difference in my size and energy level. I'm becoming a happier person each day.
